Neongod is a thrash/death metal band based in Kristiansand, Norway. The band was formed in 2003 by guitarist Kjell Jacobsen and former drummer Sven Rothe. Tom Aksel Hansen and Gøran Bomann (Chain Collector, Carpathian Forest) joined shortly after on bass and guitar.

Never finding the right guy for the vocals, set us back on the recording and gig front. It wasn’t until we met up with Svein Reinton in the latter part of 2003 that we had a permanent singer (screamer?). We basically spent 2004 redefining our music and practicing on new material with Svein, as we had mainly concentrated on ‘clean’ singers before, Svein’s approach changed everything.

We’ve put out two demos; Neongod demo in 05 and Anarchaos in 06, who both were well received by reviewers across the globe. (Our demos can be checked out in the Release section)

Gøran left the band in the beginning of 06 to prioritize his own band, Chain Collector. Ivan Gujic (Brutal Massacre) replaced Gøran on guitar not long after.

Before starting recording our debut album ‘Disease Inc.’ Tom Aksel unfortunately also left the band. Ole Vistnes (Zerozonic, Autumn Inspiration) stepped in and guest appears on all bass on Disease Inc. But with his two bands, he has his hands full and couldn’t be a full time member. The search went on, and we didn't think we would find any bass players in this shitty small town, that weren't allready occupied with ten other bands. But then came Morten Jacobsen along, and after a few sessions he earned his spot as bass player and completed the lineup!

Sven left the band early winter 08, and was replaced by Anders Kobro (Carpathian Forest, In The Woods, Green Carnation to name a few)! Anders is the perfect drummer for Neongod, his style and innovation has brought us the boost we needed!

‘Disease Inc’ is now released, and with it we hope to conquer new ground and venues, to be continued......
